The “How” is the easy part of the equation.
Unlocking Success: The Power of Subconscious Programming
I’ve been reflecting a lot on why some people succeed while others, with the same knowledge and resources, don’t. The answer, I’ve realized, lies not in having more information but in what’s happening beneath the surface—in the subconscious mind.
This insight became even clearer after watching a video by John Assaraf, where he perfectly articulated the challenge most of us face:
"All the how-to: how to get healthy and stay healthy, we know. How do I build a business and sustain it? We know. How do I get into a relationship and make it successful? We know. Most of the how-to for anything anybody wants to do in this time frame that we live in—we know. So the how-to is the easiest part of the equation. The harder part of the equation is: why am I not doing the things that I know I should be doing? And why am I not doing the things that I could find out easily how to do?"
It’s not about knowledge; it’s about alignment. Your subconscious beliefs and habits control 95–98% of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. If those aren’t aligned with your goals, no amount of "how-to" will make a difference.
The Role of Subconscious Programming
Assaraf shared a powerful example from the 1990s when he worked with a group of 75 agents who wanted to improve their sales. Instead of teaching them more strategies or techniques, he focused on retraining their subconscious minds.
For six months, the agents committed to:
Listening to daily audio programs designed to rewire their beliefs.
Reading specific materials to reinforce empowering habits.
Following a structured process to align their subconscious programming with their goals.
The results were astonishing: this group increased sales by $100 million.
Why? Because they didn’t just know what to do—they programmed their subconscious minds to take the actions necessary to achieve their goals.
Why Subconscious Programming Matters
Most of us focus on the conscious mind—the part that plans, analyzes, and problem-solves. But the subconscious is the real driver. It’s where our deepest beliefs, habits, and patterns reside.
When the subconscious is aligned with your goals, action becomes effortless. But when it’s filled with limiting beliefs like "I’m not good enough" or "I don’t deserve success," those beliefs will sabotage even the best plans.
How to Reprogram Your Subconscious
Here are some methods to start aligning your subconscious mind with your goals:
Daily Affirmations and Audiotapes
Repetition is key. Listening to affirmations or guided visualizations helps rewire your beliefs over time.Visualization
Spend time imagining your desired outcome as if it’s already real. This programs your brain to recognize opportunities and take aligned actions.Consistent Reading and Learning
Feed your mind with materials that support your goals. The more you reinforce empowering messages, the more your subconscious absorbs them.Practice Emotional Alignment
Success isn’t just about thoughts—it’s about emotions. Align your feelings with the outcomes you want by focusing on gratitude, excitement, and possibility.
What This Means for You
Subconscious programming is the foundation of transformation. It’s not about having more knowledge or better strategies—it’s about aligning your inner world with your outer goals.
As I continue to learn about states, I find myself naturally drawn to tools like audiotapes, visualization, and intentional reading. These practices are helping me not only take action but also operate from a place of wholeness and purpose.
If you’ve been struggling to take action, ask yourself: What does my subconscious believe about my ability to succeed? Then, start working to reprogram those beliefs.
Remember, success starts within. By aligning your subconscious mind, you can unlock the potential that’s already inside you—and take the steps that lead to extraordinary outcomes.
